i study interior design and i am doing my bachelor thesis right now! the project is to create homes for artists in container-like spaces! the thing is, that we have 4 of the containers, and one huge plane hangar which is going to serve as working studio/gallery.. so the containers would mainly be for housing, but i wanted to include sketching/inspirational work space! (they are also pretty small, but i love that about the project)
so, my initial idea was to have the containers look really similar in style from the outside, but have each and everyone be really diffrent and special from the inside! (for example doing one of them with an industrial style interior, and another one really modern and completely panneled with wood.... etc.)
i thought it would be a cool idea to have the different artists swich places every year or so, because personally, i think a change in spaces can be really inspiring, and so everyone would be able to be in a completely new housing environment after several months!
so my questions are:
- what do you think? do you think your living environment can influence your inspiration?
- what about your place inspires you the most? (maybe inspirational boards, or fotos on the wall?? or huge windows?nature?)
- if you could wish for anything your place should have? what would that be?
- or just any input on what you think about the idea?
hope you guys share your input, because id really love to hear the opinions of acutal artists from around the world, instead of just assuming you all feel the same way i do
